According
to the Employment Service Statistics, at the end of September the number of
unemployed jobseekers registered at Employment and Economic Development Offices
totalled 265,800, up 77,400 on the previous year.
The number
of new vacancies reported to Employment and Economic Development Offices during
September totalled 30,000, or 14,600 less than September in the previous year.
In all, the number of unfilled vacancies at Employment and Economic Development
Offices amounted to 49,600 in September, which is
23,000 less than a year ago.
At the end
of September, the number of long-term unemployed who had been unemployed
without interruption for more than a year amounted to 41,800, down 200 on the
previous year. Of those, persons unemployed without interruption for more than
two years numbered 14,600, down 4,200 on the previous year.
The number
of foreign citizens among unemployed jobseekers totalled 16,000, up 3,700 from
September a year ago. Of these foreign unemployed jobseekers, EU/EEA citizens
accounted for 3,500 at the end of September, up 1,100 from the year before.
